Lady Stephen and her Black and White Jellicle Cat ACEO watercolor

    jelliclecat1

So Lady Stephen got up one day and decided she had too much to do. In fact she would eliminate getting dressed from this point onward. That took up too much time when she could be having fun and exploring the world.
Lady Stephen took her black and white Jellicle Cat with her every single place she went. He was a very good traveler.

    I LOVE making ACEOs.
If you’re not familiar, ACEO is an acronym for Art Cards Editions and Originals.
The size is always 2.5 x 3.5 inches.

What an artist uses for to create an original ACEO is up to the artist, which makes ACEOs a very unique and collectible type of art.

ACEOs are not Artist Trading Cards (ATCs). ATCs are not sold and given from artists to each other or collectors.

  • Kitties Finding Forever Homes

I’m so happy. My friend Shiva adopted a new kitty and he donated a painting I did about rescued cats.

  • What I am working on right now

I’ve pretty much made up my mind I am leaving Ebay. I have made up my mind I am only going to sell $10 and under paintings on Ebay.

It was a great place to sell art and I have met some of the coolest people, but unless you spend a lot of money on different types of listings you aren’t favored in search results anymore, and the type of buyer  that just wants the lowest price that they are now attracting is just making it a place I can’t make a living anymore. Time to diversify.

I had a woman recently write me and offer to take 2 paintings off my hands for the price of one.  Another one got her art and then her payment bounced and she is basically refusing to make it good. She got her art and she pointed out to me, I can paint more right??? It’s like poof, more paintings….it’s not like I am really out anything like you know, someone that owns a store with merchandise. I can make more. Ugh …. people….

Okay enough kvetching. Here is what I am working on (poof! More art) today.
None of these pieces I am sharing below are done.
Starting from the left – 2 kitties “It Will Be Better” – needs more layers of paint.
Next is “Artist’s Ideas” – I haven’t decided if I am doing this in watercolor or acrylic or oil yet.
Then, close up of a goat girl – she’s part of a much larger piece this is an ACEO (2.5×3.5 inches)
Next row – The Sneeze ACEO
    and Anger ACEO

  • There is a Warm Radiator for Every Cat in the Afterlife 5×7 Acrylic

cats on radiatorsThe 3 cats in the painting are Phoenix (orange – got hit by a car I’ll never know why he was in the street in the first place he was an indoor cat)…the black and white is Oliver Gripweed – he died of kidney failure – that cat was my heart, and last was the Siamese – Timmy Cat Smell – she had cerebellar hyposplasia and wound up living 9 years when the vets early on predicted she wouldn’t last a year. She was an awesome furry friend.

  • Kitty Blue Painting

All of our cats are special needs cats. We are drawn to help the kitties that need homes and care. We work out of the house so we’re always here.
The bad part of adopting special needs cats is that you wind up having to say “goodbye” much sooner than you’d like in some cases but the good part is you get to know some pretty amazing furry friends.

  • I’m One of You

Originally I was thinking this ginger cat was going to trick this fish and eat him. Then I thought, maybe he’s trying to acclimate and be like a fish and understand the fish, so they can be friends.
Yes, that’s it  – I am going with friends.
No cat on fish violence here~ 😀

And I love making Artist Trading Cards or ACEO’s (
Art Cards, Editions and Originals) – you’ve been warned.
    Size : 2.5-inches by 3.5-inches

  • Siamese Cat Time Travel Totem Watercolor

I was inspired by this quote I saw: “

“If you want to feel sad, live in the past.
If you want to feel anxious, live in the future.
If you want to feel peaceful, live in the now.”

Somehow that translated in my brain to 3 Siamese cats with the Latin words for past, present and future written on their collars.

So if you wanna time travel in the present – this painting will allow you to do that. 😀

    Size : 9-inches by 12-inches
Ink, watercolor on 140lb hot pressed paper.
