  • Let’s Play Said the Fish to the Mermaid

This started as a blob of pink paint on a piece of watercolor paper. I found it after it dried. So i drew a circle around it, then I decided it was a pink pearl that a little fishy was holding in his fish teeth.
And then I thought, wouldn’t it be great if the pearl belonged to his best friend, a mermaid?
I love painting mermaids, especially drawing the scales on the tail – that is super fun to me (yeah I know, I’m weird).
I think it was also inspired because the fish tank on the second floor leaked and my side of the bed (of course) is wet – I think I”ll have to camp out on the couch in the living room tonight until it’s dry.

This will make a great addition to your collection of our art – bid now!

  • Red Ribbon Guy

I wanted to do something different with this guy.
He had the usual hair and the usual suit and the usual expression you see over and over and over in vintage photos (yes i know why people rarely smiled in these old photos ).
And so I wanted to make him special, unique even.
    Everyone deserves that.
So i started with some amazing blonde hair then it needed something…. a hat? No…. a RIBBON.
And here you have Stanley with his amazing hair with this amazing ribbon.
He will be the envy of all your other art on your walls.

  • Martha’s Actual Rule for Life

I met Martha not long ago and she’s really an awesome lady.
I did a painting about Martha’s rule – “Don’t be Mean” because of something she said, and then I realized it started with a negative (“Don’t”) – Martha wouldn’t do that and then she herself told me that her rule would be “Be Kind”.
I like Martha’s rule and it’s really something we should all subscribe to.

  • Hey You, Get Up and Feed Us Said the Cats at 5 Freakin’ 30 in the morning

    Here’s the story:
Are you owned by a cat?
    We are.
3 furry, pushy monsters who think early every morning at the crack of nothing they need food in their bowls right then.
And they are relentless too with many years of honing their annoying to perfection.
Of course we give in and spoil them rotten.
Otherwise they’ll kick us out of the house.

  • Very Bad People ACEO Original Set of 4

    ACEO Card Set

I bumbled onto the Crime Library to read more about the Mountain Meadows Massacre and there was this other article I clicked on and it was the Top Ten Bestiality Cases. It was mugshots and a short synopsis of what these people did and I was just reading a couple thinking wow these are bad people and then I drew them and wrote my take on the synopsis on the back (basically an even shorter synopsis).

  • New ACEO Cards Avialable Today

    Good Morning and Hello!
Before these go up on Ebay (after we make tortillas today) I wanted to give you a little preview of the fun of ACEO cards. 🙂

    Left to Right Top Row

►Mrs. Cockroach got a new dress.
► She Could only look down her nose at them – inspired by a real person I met who serious had her head back looking down at people at an event we were at, people of lesser means made her “uncomfortable”….
► Boss Pear runs the Fruit Bowl – inspired by a pear that got moldy and ruined other fruits in the bowl.
► Siamese Cat – because we love ’em.
► These boots are made for walkin’ (always loved that campy song).
► Really ugly doll – reminiscent of a doll someone made for me.

  • Outdated Thoughts About Women’s Roles

I found this excerpt in a book for 1950’s school counselors to control the teens.
It read, “Until women acquired their present rights and freedoms, their feminine roles were well defined.”
Let’s hear it for not defining feminine roles!
