  • Let’s Play Said the Fish to the Mermaid

This started as a blob of pink paint on a piece of watercolor paper. I found it after it dried. So i drew a circle around it, then I decided it was a pink pearl that a little fishy was holding in his fish teeth.
And then I thought, wouldn’t it be great if the pearl belonged to his best friend, a mermaid?
I love painting mermaids, especially drawing the scales on the tail – that is super fun to me (yeah I know, I’m weird).
I think it was also inspired because the fish tank on the second floor leaked and my side of the bed (of course) is wet – I think I”ll have to camp out on the couch in the living room tonight until it’s dry.

This will make a great addition to your collection of our art – bid now!

  • Mrs. Cockroach is not Dirty Thank You Very Much

Mrs. Cockroach is sick of everyone thinking she’s a dirty, filthy thing. She cleans her house!
In fact, she got a Roomba and STILL cleans her floors.

  • Your Uncle Bee

I am a huge fan of honey bees. I don’t particularly like honey that much but I love bees for what they do.
If it was legal in Toledo, I’d keep bees but alas it is not.

You can thank a honey bee for your even being here and if you would, think of them as family members.
In fact, consider this your Uncle Bee. 😀

  • On August 3, 1901, Jebidiah Wrote the Funniest Joke EVER

I am absolutely loved this guy’s face. He’s got the tiniest little smirk, like he knows something you don’t and it’s REALLY funny. He really looked like he was just holding back from busting into laughter.
I imagine he was a pretty awesome fellow to know in walking life.

My thought was that he wrote the funniest joke EVER – and now we have to wonder what it is.

  • Stalker Moon

We were watching the movie “Arthur” and there’s this bit where the love interest of Arthur tells him when she was a little girl, she believed the moon followed her and it meant she was going to be something special.
It got me thinking – what if it wasn’t an optical illusion, what if the moon really was following you?
    How creepy would that be?

  • Answer the Phone

If you know me, you know I detest talking on the phone. I love letters, emails, even text messages and nothing beats face to face for a great chat. But I hate the phone.

Now, out of all the people in the world I could have partnered with in life, my partner Skinney hates the phone too.  Neither of our kids enjoy talking on the phone.

So, when the phone rings at our house, this is usually the conversation that ensues…

  • I’m One of You

Originally I was thinking this ginger cat was going to trick this fish and eat him. Then I thought, maybe he’s trying to acclimate and be like a fish and understand the fish, so they can be friends.
Yes, that’s it  – I am going with friends.
No cat on fish violence here~ 😀

And I love making Artist Trading Cards or ACEO’s (
Art Cards, Editions and Originals) – you’ve been warned.

  • The Story of Nurse Zombie

Nurse zombie was a very dedicated RN and then one day “that” patient was brought in.
    The one that bit her.

She’d had patients flail and even bite before but this one was different – it was like he was tasting her.

She cleaned her wound but 2 days later she ran a fever.
Then 5 days after the bite she called in and said she was really in pain and thought she may need a few extra days off it was just a bad stomach bug or maybe even the flu.
Then she didn’t call in at all on the 6th day.
On the 7th day after the bite,  she came to work as always and people ran away in horror.
She died sometime during the 5th or 6th day and was now a zombie.
    Sometime during the night
