  • Armpit Hair Original 5×7 Acrylic Painting Outsider Art

$_12 (30)I never knew women not shaving was so divisive.
I painted this after reading far too many insane comments on an article about….. women shaving their armpits and gasp, shock some women were COLORING their armpit hair hot pink and bright blue. Hey if she wants that extra Manic Panic chore – go for it. The venom in the comments from people was just wow….

Sold and living in a private collection 😀

Pic-11292014-002I had a friend tell me about this insane weekend he spent in TJ (Tijuana, Mexico) looking for the donkey girl.He and his buddy weren’t sure if they really wanted to see the show, they just wanted to take a photo with a TJ Donkey Lady.  Anyway they kept paying people money that promised them this place or that place was where she was, never panned out. So I painted one so now there is a photo of the Donkey Girl of Tijuana. 🙂

  • Oui Si Ja Say Yes as Many Ways as you Can

ouisijaI like a positive attitude, who wants to be around some Negative Nelly that says, “No, No, No….” Not me. This is a vintage photo mounted on ragboard and painted with acrylics. Sealed under varnish. Makes a great gift!

This piece is currently available for sale on Ebay and Artfinder for $25. 😀

  • I Bring the Party

I bring the party. I think everyone should. It’s much better to be around people that want to celebrate the lives they have rather than moaning about the lives they don’t have.
This is a vintage photo mounted on vintage book papers from a 1950’s sex guide (a really short book! seriously it’s like 50 pages) and mounted it on a 3×5 canvas.

  • Love and Astral Travel – Yes, New Artworks Have Been Born

Two new pieces are finally dry.
The first was inspired by a friend of mine that teaches astral traveling, I thought it would be cool but I’d just probably misuse that super power so it’s better I don’t have it.
(come on you thought about it too)….
and the second is a pure celebration of love. Something we all need more of in our lives. ♥

  • Saatchi Online Artist: Jo Potocki; Acrylic 2014 Painting “Still Birth He Was Born Sleeping Lo Fi Acrylic on Canvas”

On March 6th, 2004, after a totally normal second pregnancy with zero complications – my son suffered an umbilical cord collapse at 38 weeks and died in utero. He was born in a totally quiet, somber delivery room and arrived sleeping in a silent room.It was so hard to believe he would never wake up. His fingers and toes were perfect. In fact, he looked perfect in every way.The red around the baby in the painting and in the umbilical cord is the oxygen, blood, and life. The black represents the death that ultimately crept in.This is an acrylic painting done on an 11×14-inch canvas, the sides are painted black.

  • Lady at My Bank Jo Potocki Acrylic Raw Collage Outsider Art Orginal Art Public | eBay

So there was a bit of a snafu with me and my bank.

I had sold several art pieces to someone that buys pretty regularly, and oops, his payment got returned.

No problem, I contacted him and he said he needed 2 days and he’d make it right via Paypal. Okay, I’m cool with that.

So, I had paid two bills based on this deposit and while neither alone would have overdrawn my account, my bank in their infinite wisdom ran both payments and charged me two returned check charges of $37.50 each.

I called the bank and they basically said, “Up yours, screw you, we already trick you into being your own bank teller now you’ll pay double for NSFs too bwa ha ha ha”…
    Well actually she just said,
“No, I am sorry policy says we can’t waive the fees.”

I say I’ll be down to make a deposit in about 2 hours to make everything right and again she reads another canned answer to me.

Now, I’m annoyed. Does my bank really need those NSF fees that badly? Am I taking cake outta this chick’s mouth by asking her to waive them?

The way she’s acting you’d think I was.

We go back and forth and I talk to 3 more “managers” and finally get this utterly cool guy who says, “Hey make a deposit before 4pm today and I’ll go ahead and waive these fees.”

My faith in cool people is restored.
