  • She Had Stink Eye Jo Potocki Acrylic Collage Outsider Art Orginal Art Girl Woman | eBay

I knew someone once that okay, confession time, I got to the point I would piss her off just to see her stink eye.

It was amazing how she could squinch up one side of her face and open the other eye HUGE. And look totally displeased while doing it. She Had Stink Eye Jo Potocki Acrylic Collage Outsider Art Orginal Art Girl Woman | eBay

  • Here’s My Heart

I used to swear I had a magnet somewhere in my body that would instantly attract the WORST possible person for me.

A dozen years ago I finally met a great guy that loves me for me and even likes all my dents and dings.
No constant litany of things I could improve to be better and he’s always honest. I love that part most of all. I can trust anything he says. We agreed from the start to be utterly honest with the good, bad, and ugly.

So even though my heart is a little bruised from people who didn’t treat it right – it’s still a good heart and he holds it now very carefully (and sometimes with PIE!) woohoo!

  • I Gave My Cat a Bath Today

My cat Dexter has a skin problem – he’s an indoor only cat but he’s so allergic to fleas if he happens to get bitten, man, it’s bad. He’s so itchy and miserable. He’s really spazzy and hard to comb because he just wigs out and runs.

So to give him so relief, he gets a bath more frequently than our other cats.
Let me stress, Dexter HATES a bath.

Like if stink eye could kill me to get out of the bath he’d do it – he hates them that much.

But he seems to feel pretty awesome afterwards so it’s worth all the attitude and stink eye he throws.
And he even comes and sits with me afterwards so I know it’s all cool.

This piece is super fun because if you look closely you can see Dexter is painted on paper that is mounted on this canvas. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Nasty Relatives Family Drama Jo Potocki Funky Folk Art Original Acrylic Painting | eBay

The Insulting Chunkle holds a cherry glazed doughnut in one hand that glaze on top of of the doughnut is all the sweetness he ever had in him, and a cobra in the other to make sure his internal venom supply stays replenished at all times.

Because he never used it and was too selfish to give it to another, he keeps his black, withered, little raisin-like heart in a jar beside him. A blue corpse-flower blooms on the other side of him, stinking up the room.

The banner above him reads, “We act according to what we believe ourselves to be.

He thinks he’s amazingly enlightened but his third eye is rolling backwards into his head seeing nothing but what’s inside himself.

Lastly, since he’s a big actor – he’s on stage.

Lost Dog – Last Seen Orbiting Space

Laika the dog was one of the end of childhood defining moments for me. When I was little, I thought in my happy little girl head, that dog was up there in Sputnik II happily driving it around around the earth and eating dog treats ….. it wasn’t until later I found out out Laika was sent up with no way to bring her back.

My friend David Hoffman made a totally kickass video about Sputnik/Laika –ย  – super cool films. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Burny The Clown Only Did His Act Once – True Story

In late August, I actually dreamed this. Not of an actual person dressed up like a clown burning, but rather someone was telling me the story of Burny the Clown and how he had this amazing act where he used fired but he only did his act once because he didn’t plan it out very well. It was such a weird dream even for me that I drew a sketch before my morning coffee made the dream fade and then I have been working on this for the past week or so.
The story of this artwork will be sent and original sketch too if you want it.

See him now and original sketch is also in the listing : Jo Potocki Funky Folk Art Original Canvas Painting Burny The Clown Did Act Once | eBay

  • I Would Have Liked Her Better – Acrylic on Canvas

And so I was trapped in my seat on an airplane.
Full flight, couldn’t get someone else to trade with me.
One of those nice, quieter jets where the engines don’t drown out the super annoying person next to you.
I was stuck next to this overly nervous, non-stop talking woman who did nothing but spew the most judgmental, rude crap.
Pretty soon it became a game, look at my watch and then count how many times she said “I”.
Over an hour of this, I had learned she thought everyone that didn’t put their hands over their hearts should be shipped out of ‘Merica and thought Fox News was the ONLY true news.
I also learned she had some pretty extreme views on women’s rights (they didn’t need them, they had it good before and really if we loved a man enough to marry him, he could make our decisions for us as god intended) and most importantly, I learned that cable was just a way to show our people soft porno and corrupt us all!
    She was making me tired.
Finally when she asked me what I did, I told I wrote musical scores for porn movies.
She turned away and said nothing more. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Never Cut Her Hair Acrylic on Canvas

I met someone ages ago either on a lay over or at a party – I can’t remember which.
She had the bar-none most gorgeous hair I’ve ever seen.
it was incredibly long and just beautiful.
We were chit chatting and was telling me how envious she was of any woman with short hair.
So I asked why and she told me she promised her father she would never cut her hair and he had passed on when she was young.
It was the promise of a child to a dying father.
She wanted to cut her hair badly but felt she could never break her promise.
