I love ferrets. I’ve wanted to add one to our family for a long time but I read they tend to get adrenal disease and insulinoma after the age of 3 in their around 8-year life span.
I love their curiosity and their little hands.
When I painted her I got inspired by Dandy Mott from American Horror Story, and his front forehead curls. 🙂

This improved photo was inspired by a deaf friend that had this amazing collection of vintage hearing aids he was sharing with me. I have a great interest in medical “helpers” from the past – it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come in such a short time. His collection was amazing to me and contained strange devices that were developed to aid the deaf in hearing. He joked with me later the title of this piece is how I like my music – LOUDER.

My mother used to LOVE to dress us alike…. it was fine except for the clothes she chose for me were cringeworthy. Not to mention if they were bought, they were bought a size or three too large so I could grow into them, or worse, she made them and they would never fit quite right.

In 1890s Nebrahoma, any unmarried woman over 16 was considered a spinster and it was socially unlikely she’d ever marry after that point. But for one last shot, there was the Ladybug Ball and Social Dance where eligible ladies wore their best antennae and tried to connect with fine husband material.
