My mom had issues. Big issues. I didn’t realize this as a small child. I simply thought she was mean.
She would do things like stomp on my crayons when I was coloring then yell at me for not smiling 10 minutes later when she came in with some snack or something to make it all better.
She’d say, “Why are you such a sour girl?”
