Brain Injury – What it Looks Like

My partner has a brain injury – now you’d never know it to look at him, he’s sharp as ever but sometimes justย  sometimes his brain injury takes over and says the RUDEST things in order to get along with someone with a brainย ย  injury you have to understand – it’s not them talking to you, it’s the brain injury.
Another cool aspect of brain injuries is they make the person that has completely uninterested in learning about their own condition – so it’s up to you.

I used to get really upset but then I started reading books about brain injuries, and realized what the issue was.

So I can’t keep doing the same thing expecting a different outcome so I now say, “Tell your brain injury it’s being a jerk and I am not talking to it”.
And everything chills out ๐Ÿ™‚
This is what I imagine that nasty little brain injury looks like:

He’s filled with rage and he’s got almost no ears so he can’t listen and you cannot reason with him.
He’s filled with molten venom and will say ANYTHING to be hateful and hurtful.
Fortunately I don’t see him too often anymore.

The Night I Kicked Her Off the Porch – Psycho Ex Girlfriend

One night, long ago, this ex-girlfriend of my partner’s showed up on our porch.
Just showed up at around midnight.
She was only wearing boots and a coat that kept falling open and thought we’d be freakin’ delighted to let her come in.
I just have this limit of one psychotic ex at a time in our lives and well, that position was taken at that time – there was just no room for her
So, we said “no, please go and buh-bye” and she threw a nuclear hissy fit on our porch, so we asked her to leave.
I can only hope she found pants.

Edgar and The Third Eye

This is an improved photo – Edgar has actually been on my wall for a few years – I just couldn’t part with his adorable little face.
But Edgar says he’s grown weary of my tiny art studio and quite frankly he’s bored. He wants to see others and it’s not me, it’s him. So Edgar clearly needs space and I am giving it to him ๐Ÿ˜€

He’s currently up for grabs at Ebay – already has a bid!
